Ask me anything

My name is DeeDee and I love Jesus.
You’re exhausted in the faith because you’re looking at you. The more you look at yourself and the less you look at God, the more you get frustrated at yourself.

My love for you will be unconditional. No matter what you’ve done or will do, I’ll love you with all I have.

‘For millions of Christians…God is no more real than He is to the non-Christian. They go through life trying to love an ideal and be loyal to a mere principle.

Over against all this cloudy vagueness stands the clear scriptural doctrine that God can be known in personal experience.

A loving Personality dominates the Bible, walking among the trees of the garden and breathing fragrance over every scene. Always a living Person is present, speaking, pleading, loving working, and manifesting Himself whenever and wherever His people have the receptivity necessary to receive the manifestation.

The Bible assumes as a self-evident fact that men can know God with at least the same degree of immediacy as they know any other person of thing that comes within the field of their experience.

The same terms are used to express the knowledge of God as are used to express knowledge of physical things.

‘O taste and see that the Lord is good.’…the whole import of the Scripture is toward this belief.

What can all this mean except that we have in our hearts organs by means of which we can know God as certainly as know material things through our five senses?….”

Too many people, though, come to church and instead of encountering God and His truth, they encounter religion and rules. They bump into a system that says, “You need to clean up your act—or else.” Instead of accepting people for who they are and where they are, and allowing the goodness and grace of God to transform them from the inside out, many churches place an emphasis on conformity and transformation from the outside in. That’s why legalistic people don’t like too much teaching on the goodness of God.

Ann Voskamp

Prayer becomes what we live when we want to get hold of God, not just get a hold of what we want. Yes. I want to parade happy too.
And real prayer isn’t about changing God’s mind but about finding God’s heart — and letting His heart change my mind.
Is this why God urges us to pray without ceasing? We need to pray without ceasing — because it’s the only way to live in communion. Without prayer, how can our life and His will have anything in common? Without prayer, we have nothing in common with God. Without prayer — we have no fellowship, no relationship, no worship. But when we enter into prayer, He enters into our thoughts and then we have much in common and the conversation never ends and we have our heart’s real desire — communion with Christ.-Ann Voskamp
